Gender inequality and stereotype
In the era of westernization of Indian culture , the most talked about topic is feminism, gender stereotypes and gender inequalities.
Recently a protest outbroke in the shade of giving justice to the Hathras victim. On the background of hathras, a minister said that girls should be brought up with values. Really?? is that a girl's mistake if she gets raped ?? Is that about her clothes?? The answer is no.
A survey was conducted about are the clothes a reason for increasing no. of rape cases, the records showed that there wasn't a relation as a girl of nine months or a women 90 years old were raped. I personally believe that there is no logic behind this. A women doesn't need to take an advice from men over what she should wear or not. Some say that when a girl gets raped she loses her honour. Really?? Is her honour or purity only about that. I beleive that a rape victim deserves the same kind of respect as any other girl.
Whenever such a disheartening or heinous incident happens people say that "Dalit lives matter". The question arises, should caste be noticed of a rape victim or a rapist?? The answer is no , as this would lead to outbreak of protests, riots and strikes. Such an incident should not lead to the upper caste v/s the lower or hindu v/s muslim becuase there are people who try to mislead others only to fulfil their agenda and try to break the integrity of this nation.
The next question that comes to mind is that do we need to create awareness on usage of sanitary napkins ?? Reason behind this is that the usage of old cloth is unhygienic resulting to diseases. A survey conducted ,stated that only 12% of women in india use sanitary napkins. While the remaining still use an old cloth. Shocked!!! That a boy is talking about the menstruation . This is were the problem lies, there is a stereotype that men shouldn't or need not to talk about on this issue. You might have seen the appealing advertisement of akshay kumar being trolled.
Do we really pay attention to an incident if somewhat same happens with a boy,?? The answer is no we don't. None of the media channel shows about the incident when a boy commits suicide becuase of the fake rape allegations. Only a few cases like aman baisla and manav come into the limelight. The records of NCRB show that every year 85000+ men commit suicide due to false dowry cases ; 10000+suicide cases due to false rape cases and 3500+ suicide over false mollestation cases. In india, every 6 minutes a man is accused of a false dowry case and every 30 minutes a man is accused of a false rape case. Remember these are not just numbers , it's someone's father, brother or son. This is the main reason behind not having a strict punishment like death penalty on a heinous crime like rape.
The question is does patriarchy exists in reality?? I don't think so, as the above cases highlight the condition that when a boy gets accused of false allegation; no one will here his point, neither the police nor the society. The final message to all those pseudo feminist is that feminism is not about making a gender superior to the other but it's about the equality between the two. It's not about men v/s women. It's about equality. It's not about patriarchy. It's about right v/s wrong. The narrative of people like them that "A man is a dog who needs to be trained" are just illogical. It doesn't make sense that only boys should be taught values beacuse there are girls who misuse the laws and put fake allegations over boys. It's no more "bati bachao beti padhao" rather it is " desh padhao desh bachao"
And to all the girls reading this, you are very lucky to be born in a country where women are worshipped, where the girls are seen as 'laxmi' or 'saraswati'. And to the boys that don't make it a curse for the girls to be born.
Why there is a need to boycott the e-commerce or online shopping this diwali ???
So the festive season has come. And the demand will go up . Many people will start buying products online or from retail. So the question arises online v/s retail?? Will anyone buy products from retailers when there is a more discount on the product online??
In the time when the economy is going through its worst phase becuase of the pandemic . 20 million people getting jobless or unemployed. -23% contraction in India's GDP in quarter 1. There a lot problems and a lot opportunities ahead of the festive season.
Recently , there was an increase in the sales of the smartphone over the e-commerce websites. So, the question arises that whether the online shopping is good or bad for our economy because of the pandemic. The answer is yes there is a bad effect of online shopping on the retail market.
Let me explain you this with an example, suppose I am a businessman and the day to day operations of my business were stopped due to the lockdown imposed by the government. Before the lockdown, my business was profitable and I was easily able to carry out my operations but things started getting changed after the impose of lockdown. I had creditors to pay, some retained earnings left with me and debtors. After the unlock 1, I started again with my business, but the problem arises is that the earnings which I had are now spent during the lockdown. Now , I have some creditors which I have to pay and I paid them with the left cash I had but I also have to get some payment by the debtors . Few of them were unable to pay the debts , I had no money left for buying of new stock for my business so I started cutting down my expenses but it didn't helped much. So, I decided to remove a worker . And I was on the hope that the remaining stock which I had left with gets sold quickly so that I get cash.
So this condition of pandemic resulted in my business profits being cut out and also making an individual unemployed.
The only solution to this is that the people should buy goods from retailers instead of buying it online . Reason being when the sales of retailer increases he would be able to purchase more of stock and increase his sales . This results in the retailer making a decision in employing someone to minimise the work load. Now the person whom he has employed would also be spending some amount in the market. Leading to more demand.
So, When people starts spending more the demand goes up resulting in more purchasing power thus leading to growth. When a producer , retailer or wholesaler has money, his spending goes up and increases his disposable income which encourages him to spend more in the business.
Your decision of buying the product online will also affect the wholesaler. As the retailers do not have the money to purchase the stock, wholesaler's sales will also go down as this happens in a form of series or chain.
So it's a advisable to purchase from retailers instead from e-commerce website ,even at a slightly higher price as this one step of yours is eventually going to benefit the economy at last.
Same was the Indian government idea of atmanirbhar bharat and policies like giving 10000 to government employee so as to increase their spendings. Leading to creation of artificial demand. Thai will also effect the non govt. Employees. But the criticism is what if the amount given to them is not spent or if spent on the purchase from e-commerce website.
