16th august 2021- Kundalika Valley:
After completing trekking on Torna fort on 14th of August, I had celebrated Independence Day on Malhar Fort. Then decided to visit Kundalika Valley in tamhini ghat which is situated in mighty range of Sahyadri.
I had been through this ghat last year while I was on the way to Raigad fort. Today I wanted to reach Kundalika valley early in the morning but due to continuous driving and trekking I was tired, so I woke up late at 9.30 in the morning then filled my belly with delicious breakfast made by my sister and left for the valley at 11.30 am.
Helmet on, Gloves on, Raincoat on, earphones on, Map on and finally music on and I am on the way to valley. After listening nearly 30-35 English songs while singing loudly with the singer, marching my bike through dense tree sheds and lake I reached Kundalika Valley at nearly 1.30 in noon. I parked my bike; I noticed a group may be a family got down from a car reached at same time as me. A young boy 12 -13 years old, as soon as he got down from car he started yelling as he was overjoyed by watching clouds running in front of him and also running through him. I smiled gently to myself as I remembered that I had always dreamed in my childhood to go above clouds and walk through them. If I could have done that in my childhood, my reaction would have been as same as his.
I slowly walked towards valley; the place was surrounded by astonishing greenery. May be the mother earth was enjoying monsoon with all her heart out. I saw some people were standing at main valley point having chats, clicking photos, taking videos etc. so I decided to avoid them and went to other side for peaceful me time. I put my bag there near a rock and sat there for some time watching clouds. Small drizzling rain, cold wind, widely covered fog and sound of a waterfall which was flowing nearby, these all things were giving the feel of meditation for me. After meditating there for some time, I decided to go at main valley point. I had worn crocs in my foot which was very slippery so I was walking very slowly, did water crossing very carefully and reached at the valley point. Now no one was there, just like I had wished I was all by my own self. The place was so unique, one stone was extruding from the mountain towards valley, below that the waterfall was flowing very quietly. Some flowers of violet color were having bath in rain. The small plants by the side of stone were welcoming me to have sit. And clouds were pouring rain drop to show their gratitude towards me. I loved their way of hospitality.
I sat there peacefully and was just enjoying the beauty of nature. The clouds were in hurry to reach somewhere ahead, they were continuously running like the thoughts in my mind. Fog was kissing my whole body all the time and was blocking everything ahead of my eyesight. I felt different kind of me there. All the time I had a gentle smile on my face while watching these all things. I nurtured the way of nature applauding me for going there and pouring myself into it. And how can my mind and heart will remain shut at that time? The series of thoughts had started already in my mind. I always thought when I visit such places that how can humans get only attracted to materialistic things even though God have given such pleasing beauty of nature on this mother earth. Peoples often fails to admire the beauty of nature and get busy in their fake materialistic world. After calming my mind & heart I sat there calmly for some time and then clicked some photos, videos and explored the remaining portion of that place while walking in the rain.
The clock was ticking and I decided to jump on my bike to reach Mumbai before dinner time. The route for Mumbai from here was new for me, the google map was not working due to poor network, so after discussing the route options with a person I selected the less used route by people. The route was very mesmerizing as it was surrounded by mountains at both sides topped with clouds, greenery, waterfalls, farms, small water crossing bridges and kind village peoples walking alone by the side of road. After nearly 20 km I reached a spot where there was very dense jungle at both sides of road, the sky was filled with tons of dark clouds as well as the whole jungle and the road was fully covered in fog. As I had selected the less used route there was no one behind me or ahead me. I was all by myself. The road was only visible up to 5 m from the headlights, the silence was like barfi movie. The jungle was so dense and that fog without any visibility was scaring me to hell. I had no courage to see here and there, I was only watching to the lights of bike.
That patch of road was nearly 15 kms and the whole time I was abusing myself for coming there. I was so scared that I thought this is my last day on mother earth and was chanting Hanuman Chalisa whole time to avoid entry of any ghost there. Oh god, why I do these things? Why I came here alone? I was so regretting for going there. The situation was so frightening.
After exploiting myself for half hour finally I witnessed civilization. Hush, I was very grateful to God for giving me my life back. I felt alive. Every time when we came out of such situation, we get confidence to face this kind of situation again. Same thing happens with me, now I was more confident to face that kind of situation again. Also, I felt proud of myself for doing this. To treat myself I found a place to eat. I ate Maggie which is the universal food of travelers and the heavenly drink Tea. Then the drive for Mumbai was of 2 hrs. This was my very unique experience while solo traveling to Kundalika valley, I will not be going to forget this in nearby time. But I think these kinds of adventures & experiences can fill your soul with life.
