Mark Twain, an American author said that “The man who does not read has no advantage over the man who cannot read.”
Books are the ultimate source of knowledge. Reading a book is one of the best habit ones can develop. Reading is important because it makes us smarter, develops our thought, gives us endless knowledge and lessons. Books are the best mode of imparting education from school days for all of us. Regular reading helps us to build optimism and to approach life with a positive attitude.
Books are capable of increasing our imagination power. Have you ever noticed that while reading a novel/storybook, our mind starts framing pictures of what we Read. Suppose a novel describes an island, surrounded by ocean and having tall trees, then our mind automatically frames the picture of it in our mind. This is possible even if we haven’t visited an island before. This happens due to the description of the storyline. Thus, Reading enhances our Imagination power.
Some books teach us how one can become successful or how one can tackle their problems. Spiritual books like The Bible, Bhagwat Geeta helps us to get peace of mind and also to receive high-end knowledge and wisdom. Books also enhance our reading and writing skills and also they are good company when we are feeling alone or traveling somewhere. A study found the most common habit among great leaders is- READING. A survey conducted in the US included 1200 World’s Wealthiest people and found that they all have a common habit of Reading. Warren Buffett, World’s Richest man, read 800-1000 pages per day. He spends 80% of his time reading.
Thus, we conclude that through Regular Reading, one can make the best decision in life by getting exposed to other people’s problems and how they solve them. Those who read books are better in almost all aspects of their lives. The beginners, should start reading at least 10 pages per day which means it will be 3650 pages per year, so it will be approximately 18 books of 200 pages each.
