On Feb 24,2020 , A technical lecture was conducted in Department Of Civil Engineering with the association of XPLOOC Technology.In this lecture Mr. Ashish Saroj ,CEO of XPLOOC Technology , presented the application of MAT LAB in civil engineering practices.
Area Of Focus-
1.To motivate the students and to create interest in the application of various modern softwares in civil engineering practices.
2.Use of MAT LAB in civil engineering practices
Mr. Saroj presented an example in which he applied the MAT LAB in fluid mechanics problem.
The Department of Civil Engineering of Faculty of Engineering and Technology (University of Lucknow) organised a web-seminar on Concrete Technology and Design standard IS:456-2000
Amid lockdown due to the COVID-2019 outbreak,the department of Civil Engineering organised a web-seminar to introduce its students with design standards of concrete technology as per IS:456-2000.This is a code of practices for design of concrete structures nationwide.This code helps in quality control in designing of concrete structures. The department is continue to guide and help the students through online media.The students attended the webinar with great zeal.Senior Prof. Veerendra Kumar from IIT BHU interacted with the students and cleared all their doubts and emphasized the importance of concrete technology in civil engineering.He introduced the use of OPC and PPC cements in constructions.He told the importance of curing for concrete structures after construction. Curing provides strength to the concrete structures.He also introduced the self compacted concrete to students.
Faculty of Engineering and Technology, University of Lucknow, organised a webinar on 'Relevance of Solar Energy in Civil Engineering'.
Amid the nationwide lockdown due to COVID-19 outbreak,the classrooms are suspended in universities.The department of Civil Engineering and the Training and Placement Cell of Faculty of Engineering and Technology of University of Lucknow organised a webinar with the help of Enterprise for Industrial and Corporate Training.In this webinar session,Mr.Rohit Mehrotra on behalf of Enterprise for Industrial and Corporate Training highlighted the relevance of solar energy in the field of civil engineering. Mr.Mehrotra discussed the basic concepts of solar energy and manufacturing processes of different different solar equipments used in day to day life and in military services. Mr. Mehrotra told the students how energy can be produced by utilising the ocean temperature difference between the top and bottom layers of water. This is an indirect method of solar energy production.He told that many research works are continue in this field.The coordinator of Faculty of Engineering and Technology Prof. R.S Gupta told that we are trying to provide qualitative education to our students during lockdown.The Head of Department of Civil Engineering Er. Jitendra Pratap Singh told that they would be continue to organise such webinar to help the students.The Head of Training and Placement cell, Dr. Himanshu Pandey told that Training and Placement Cell is committed to organise seminars, workshops, webinars etc. to introduce the students with modern industrial requirements and challenges. Er. Gaurav Srivastava said that the students are cooperating well. Er. Kalpana Patel ,Er. Nidhi Srivastava and others are in contact with students through internet and they are providing the directions and guidelines to the students.
