The Irony of things
Today at around 9:30 PM, my brother had a thought while watching the news channels talk about Ram Mandir that is being built in India.
We all agree that it is a great fleet for the government which has won the long battle. The news channels mentioned that the government has raised an amount of 1300 crore rupees for the construction of this temple.
When all this was going on, my brother had a thought and he asked " during this situation, when the whole world has been shook because of a pandemic and the nation is struggling to contain the spread of the virus, the situation where people are losing jobs, people are dying of hunger, a situation which is so horrifying that people are scared to step out of their homes, doctors are dying trying to help the patients, the public is facing such great loss, the government is collecting funds from people all over nation to battle this virus and provide help to the citizens, so many things are happening, but why is that the government has raised 1300 crore rupees for construction of a temple?"
I was not knowing the answer to this question. Government has a plan I guess.
I respect the fact that a temple is being built and it is gonna leave its own mark in the history. It's a great achievement indeed. I am in no way against the idea of building a temple. I am neither an atheist.
I am just feeling bad for those people who died because of corona. Imagine what would a family who has recently lost one of their members not because they had no money to get the treatment, but because the hospital lacked some facilities or the beds were full. If that family is watching the news and they see that the people donated so much money for a temple and the government agreed to it, just think about how they might feel. If I was one of the family members who was watching this news, I would be feeling so helpless and pathetic for the fact that one of the people whom I loved died because the government has not spent enough money to provide the basic facilities. I would feel bad for the fact that a life has no meaning but a religious battle has more importance. Only if Indians had fought a battle against Rape as hard as they fought for building the Ram Mandir, our nation would have been a more beautiful and peaceful place. Only if the people of India fought for society peace killers such as sexual assault, bribes, dowry, human trafficking, marital rape, child labour and had no judgements towards people who belong to LGBTQ+, people who marry early, people who marry late, people who have melanin, people who have opinions, people who are independent, people who are soft spoken, people who are not good at mathematics, people who suffer from depression, women who wear western clothes, women who wear saree, men who are homemakers, women who are homemakers, men who wear makeup, women who wear makeup, women who don't apply makeup, people who are not engineers and doctors, people who believe in God, people who don't believe in God, people who have a lot of friends who belong to the opposite gender, people who have less friends, people who belong to a different religion or cast, people who eat meat, people who don't eat meat, people who use public transportation, people who have money, people who don't have money and the list goes on into an infinite pool of lists as people are born to judge others, but they forget that they are also being judged by others. Everybody is a victim to judgements, but we can try our level best to not judge others because everyone has a story of their own.
Don't you think we should fight for all this? What I feel is, ultimately we will make India a better place if we put up a fight. If we can win a court case based on a temple and attain peace we can surely fight for our well being and make our country the safest and the most beautiful place in the world. The same applies to other countries as well.
I would love to see the day when normalisation of colour of the skin, sexual preferences, gender roles etc. happen and people love and respect each other.
To all the young adults reading this and if you are from India, hope your parents understand you. If you wanna be happy as a child in India, your parents should be open minded and know how to address your questions and ease your heart. If that's not the case, you will have a hard time, but you will reach there, a place where you are more of you and less of what people want you to be. If it's wrong, it's wrong!
P.S playing video games are better than playing with people and their emotions. So play video games , be happy and let others be happy as well.
PEACE OUT! ?
