Drug Abuse
Last day, i walk in mirror and see
What Drugs & tablets have made me
My desires are stronger than wood
My sight is getting blurred then it should
From the hour, i put my step in
I can see my interior through skin
I can feel destruction coming closer
My life is getting so much darker
My death will be ruled on overdose
My grave would be without any rose
Over drugs, worthy are my organs
My all daily problems are due to drugs

What is Herd Immunity and How Can We Achieve It With COVID-19?
When the coronavirus that causes COVID-19 first started to spread, virtually nobody was immune.
Meeting no resistance, the virus spread quickly across communities. Stopping it will require a significant percentage of people to be immune. But how can we get to that point?
What is herd immunity?
When most of a population is immune to an infectious disease, this provides indirect protection—or herd immunity (also called herd protection)—to those who are not immune to the disease.
For example, if 80% of a population is immune to a virus, four out of every five people who encounter someone with the disease won’t get sick (and won’t spread the disease any further). In this way, the spread of infectious diseases is kept under control. Depending how contagious an infection is, usually 70% to 90% of a population needs immunity to achieve herd immunity.
How have we achieved herd immunity for other infectious diseases?
Measles, mumps, polio, and chickenpox are examples of infectious diseases that were once very common but are now rare in the U.S. because vaccines helped to establish herd immunity. We sometimes see outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases in communities with lower vaccine coverage because they don’t have herd protection. (The 2019 measles outbreak at Disneyland is an example.)
For infections without a vaccine, even if many adults have developed immunity because of prior infection, the disease can still circulate among children and can still infect those with weakened immune systems. This was seen for many of the aforementioned diseases before vaccines were developed.
Other viruses (like the flu) mutate over time, so antibodies from a previous infection provide protection for only a short period of time. For the flu, this is less than a year. If SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, is like other coronaviruses that currently infect humans, we can expect that people who get infected will be immune for months to years, but probably not their entire lives.
What will it take to achieve herd immunity with SARS-CoV-2?
As with any other infection, there are two ways to achieve herd immunity: A large proportion of the population either gets infected or gets a protective vaccine. Based on early estimates of this virus’s infectiousness, we will likely need at least 70% of the population to be immune to have herd protection.
- In the worst case (for example, if we do not perform physical distancing or enact other measures to slow the spread of SARS-CoV-2), the virus can infect this many people in a matter of a few months. This would overwhelm our hospitals and lead to high death rates.
- In the best case, we maintain current levels of infection—or even reduce these levels—until a vaccine becomes available. This will take concerted effort on the part of the entire population, with some level of continued physical distancing for an extended period, likely a year or longer, before a highly effective vaccine can be developed, tested, and mass produced.
- The most likely case is somewhere in the middle, where infection rates rise and fall over time; we may relax social distancing measures when numbers of infections fall, and then may need to re-implement these measures as numbers increase again. Prolonged effort will be required to prevent major outbreaks until a vaccine is developed. Even then, SARS-CoV-2 could still infect children before they can be vaccinated or adults after their immunity wanes. But it is unlikely in the long term to have the explosive spread that we are seeing right now because much of the population will be immune in the future.
Why is getting infected with SARS-CoV-2 to “get it over with” not a good idea?
With some other diseases, such as chickenpox before the varicella vaccine was developed, people sometimes exposed themselves intentionally as a way of achieving immunity. For less severe diseases, this approach might be reasonable. But the situation for SARS-CoV-2 is very different: COVID-19 carries a much higher risk of severe disease and even death.
The death rate for COVID-19 is unknown, but current data suggest it is 10 times higher than for the flu. It’s higher still among vulnerable groups like the elderly and people with weakened immune systems. Even if the same number of people ultimately get infected with SARS-CoV-2, it’s best to space those infections over time to avoid overwhelming our doctors and hospitals. Quicker is not always better, as we have seen in previous epidemics with high mortality rates, such as the 1918 Flu pandemic.
What should we expect in the coming months?
Scientists are working furiously to develop an effective vaccine. In the meantime, as most of the population remains uninfected with SARS-CoV-2, some measures will be required to prevent explosive outbreaks like those we’ve seen in places like New York City.
The physical distancing measures needed may vary over time and will not always need to be as strict as our current shelter-in-place laws. But unless we want hundreds of millions of Americans to get infected with SARS-CoV-2 (what it would take to establish herd immunity in this country), life is not likely to be completely “normal” again until a vaccine can be developed and widely distributed.

Our students are suffering the worst that can't take the online classes on 2G network. Where is world and where are the organizations of world like UN, UNESCO, AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL, they claim that they are preacher of justice of human rights. Do we kashmiris not need the internet ? Left his school to save his mother tongue meet Asif.
In 2009, Asif Tariq Bhat, known as Bhat Asif, then 12-year-old, rebelled against his school authorities over their decision to prohibit use of Kashmiri language in the school. He dropped out in protest and remained committed to supporting his mother tongue.
Nine years later, Asif turned into a poet.
With hundreds of followers on his social media accounts, Asif has fetched a celebrity fan base from the valley.
A number of prominent poets including Zareef Ahmad Zareef have praised his work.
“I was in my 7th standard when I left one of the reputed institutions of the city because I wasn’t allowed to talk in my mother tongue. I felt it as an attempt to steal my identity. I have always been proud of my language and culture. With poetry, I try to preserve my legacy and identity,” said Asif.
Asif hails from central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. Pursuing his honors’ degree in Kashmiri literature from Amar Singh College Srinagar, he came across Kashmiri poetry at an early age.
“One day I overheard my mother listening to a Kashmiri song written by Rehman Rahi. When I asked her about the song, she explained it to me. I was fascinated with the emotions those lines carried,” Asif said.
The poet started writing poems in mother tongue in his 7th standard with the pen name ‘Bhat Asif’.
“The first poem that I wrote titled ‘waqat’ (Time). I remember sharing it with my teachers and family. While my teachers ridiculed me my family encouraged me,” said Asif.
Shahzada Bano, Asif’s mother, who shares a great hand in moulding Asif’s beliefs for his language and culture, said, “Being a student of a prominent English-medium school Asif was ridiculed by his teachers for his choice of language. While Asif took a courageous decision of leaving the school, we as family supported his decision.”
Asif’s writings get frequently published in Sangarmall, the sole Kashmiri newspaper of the valley. Along with poetry Asif has written a number of short stories which he shares online on various social media platforms.
His recent Kashmiri drama ‘Tame Doh Oos Roud Paewaan’ (It was raining that day), which included 3 episodes, was highly appreciated not only by the local users but Kashmiri diaspora were also all praises for him.
Zareef Ahmad Zareef, a noted Kashmiri poet and cultural activist while praising Asif’s work, said, “It is a good sign to see the younger generation reviving our culture and taking interest in Kashmiri literature. They have realised that their mother tongue carries their identity and value system.”
“Literature is that unbreakable vessel which stores and preserves a nation’s culture and hence writers play the most significant part in doing so,” he added.
Asif is also a core member of ‘The Kashmir Tales’, an independent online story portal which publishes stories related to history and culture of Kashmir.
“We at ‘The Kashmir Tales’ encourage people to write and preserve true Kashmiri literature so that it shall be remembered for generations to come. We promote sublime art and literature of our times.”
Asif wants to serve his nation with his pen. “I want my nation to be immortal in its identity.”
“Our youth need to liberate themselves from this ‘colonial hangover’ and feel proud of their own culture. It’s the need of the hour that we realised we’ll always be treated as adopters rather than natives when we try to imitate culture other than our own,” Asif added.

TS Darbari shares the YouTube Video 'How to Deal with Insults and Negative Thoughts' by Swami Mukundanand
TS Darbari says that most of us are always surrounded by people who try their best to demotivate us or insult us just to satisfy their false ego. Therefore, we all must be always ready to hush these people and negative thoughts. However, it is easier said than done and TS Darbari says that we need to learn this technique because most of us are sitting duck for these beasts of prey.
TS Darbari further says that insults and put-downs can damage our prospects and happiness by undermining our self-confidence and self-esteem. Even causal denigration (so-called microaggressions) can, over time, lead to feelings of isolation, alienation, anger, anxiety, and depression.
Categorising the insults, TS Darbari says that insults can be physical, such as punching, slapping, or spitting. But more usually, they are verbal, whether direct or indirect. Examples of indirect verbal insults are jokes, ironic comments, backhanded compliments, mimicry, and false fascination.
TS Darbari further adds that facial expressions can substitute for speech, and things like a cold or constant stare, a false or exaggerated smile, or a raised eyebrow, depending on their intention, can also count as indirect verbal insults.
So, what’s the best way of dealing with all these different kinds of insult and injury? Therefore, TS Darbari shares an interesting and resourceful YouTube video of Swami Mukundanand. TS Darbari says that in this YouTube Video, Swami Mukundanand tells us The Most Powerful Way to Deal with Insults and Negative People.
TS Darbari says that this YouTube video is a must for all of us and we all must watch it.

TS Darbari Explains How ‘Make in India’ in ‘Aerospace and Defence’ Can Become Successful
TS Darbari says that almost 60% of defense-related requirements of India are currently met through imports. The ‘Make in India’ initiative by the Government is focusing its efforts on increasing indigenous defence manufacturing and becoming self-reliant. TS Darbari further adds that simplification in the administration of offsets, incentives to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to increase their research and development (R&D) activities and increasing the local aerospace and defence (A&D) ecosystem are some of the measures that will help Make in India.
TS Darbari says that the opening up of the defence sector for private sector participation is helping foreign original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) enter into strategic partnerships with Indian companies and leverage opportunities in the domestic market as well as global markets. However, the government still needs to take a lot of initiatves to create an ecosystem that may support the development and success of the ‘Make in India’ dream of Hon’ble Primeminister of India
Discussing the initiatives and success so far, TS Darbari says that India’s focus on indigenous manufacturing in the defence space is paying off as the Ministry of Defence over the last two years unveiled several products manufactured in India like the HAL Tejas Light Combat Aircraft, the composites Sonar dome, a Portable Telemedicine System (PDF) for Armed Forces, Penetration-cum-Blast (PCB) and Thermobaric (TB) ammunition specifically designed for Arjun tanks, a heavyweight torpedo called Varunastra manufactured with 95% locally sourced parts and medium-range surface to air missiles (MSRAM).
TS Darbari further adds that the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) under the Ministry of Defence, cleared defence deals worth more than INR 82,000 crore under ‘Buy and Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion Make (Indian)’ and ‘Buy Indian’ category . The deals include the procurement of Light Combat Aircraft (LCA), T-90 Tanks, Mini-Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) & light combat helicopters.
According to TS Darbari, though we must celebrate these achievements since they are milestones but we must keep on advancing in this direction to make India a manufacturing hub of defence products and for that, there is still a long road to cover.
TS Darbari says that Defence production companies in India would look for taxation and other stimulus relief for airlines, as Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman readies to unveil her third budget. It will help India recover early from the economic shock that has resulted from the covid-19 pandemic. TS Darbari further adds that simplification in the administration of offsets, incentives to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to increase their research and development (R&D) activities, and increasing the local aerospace and defence (A&D) ecosystem are some of the measures that will help Make in India.
TS Darbari also mentions that the signals everyone is looking for are very clear, increased stimulus for the aviation sector, maintaining capital budget commitments for military modernization and defence preparedness, and increased allocations to boost mission-readiness and modernization of the forces.

Sigue leyendo:
