The Man who runs a consumer forum found a heap of drugs laying on the streets of Sadashiv Peth, the street has multiple drug stores.
He reported the matter to the responsible authorities and now both PMC and Food and drug administration as started the investigation. The expired drugs cannot be disposed of like that we do for garbage, it needs to be done under a scientific process so that no one uses it.
The complainant asked for strict action against those who committed the crime. PMC said that throwing the drugs on the street is against the law and we will find the culprit who did this.
The expired drugs need to be repacked and return back to the manufacturer who then disposes of it. The expired drugs can harm the environment also small children can take them as a part of the fun.
The cost of disposing of the expired drugs is Rs 60 per Kg and to avoid the cost of someone taking advantage of night time committed the act.
