UP police will not check car's paper...
Now the police will check the licenses of only those who break the traffic rules. UP's DGP has directed the police not to stop the vehicles for checking the papers.
The Uttar Pradesh Traffic Department has issued a circular stating that the police cannot stop vehicles just for checking papers. They can only ask for documents from those who violate the traffic rules. Instructions have also been issued earlier on complaints of harassment of drivers etc. in the name of checking, yet such complaints are coming that police personnel are checking the papers of pollution, registration certificate and insurance etc.
He said that the instructions issued in this regard should be strictly followed to improve the road discipline by making the traffic uninterrupted so that people can drive easily drive on the road. After increase in amount of traffic challans, a case came in light of Guugram where a bike rider was stopped by police just for checking of documents. But then was fined 23,000 rupees due to lack of documents and some other things like without helmet and without PUC. Then he submitted his scooter to police, he said his scooter is cheaper than the fine.
