Police sent 650 stranded passengers home from Lucknow airport
Hundreds of passengers arrived at Amausi Airport on Tuesday evening due to the lockdown. The administration had arranged for a pre-paid taxi, but that too was insufficient. The number of passengers was constantly increasing.
Around 650 passengers reached the airport at 8 pm. There was no means for them. The police immediately started the operation. More than two dozen PRVs were floated, as well as buses arranged for long distance passengers by talking to administrative officials.
The people were sent home by the police after a special operation of about 6 hours late at night. The police team talked to the airport authority and prepared the list of passengers. Arranged 90 vehicles as per requirement, and sent the passengers to their homes.
