CBI interrogated 4 former BIC officers
The CBI team interrogated four former BIC officers in a closed room. Information was also collected about the policy files made for the sale of bungalows and files related to the sale.
The CBI team, which came to investigate the irregularities in the sale of British India Corporation (BIC) bungalows in Kanpur, on Thursday confronted four former officers in a closed room. The Central Vigilance Officer (CVO) of the Directorate of Textiles was also questioned. Also appraised the valuation process of auction of movable properties of the recent Elgin mills. The CBI and CVO are currently camping in the city.
According to sources, a two-member team of CBI questioned former BIC Company Secretary KC Vajpayee, Deputy General Manager NB Singh, Manager Administration RK Mishra, Retail Officer Anil Mishra in a closed room. The policy and procedure for the sale of all BIC bungalows was decided by these officers.
The bungalows were also sold during his tenure. According to sources, the CBI asked them what documents had been missing, who had lost the files of the sale process of the bungalows. After interrogating the officers, Manish Tiwari, PA of KC Vajpayee and typist Sadhana Gupta were also questioned.
