Pilot said - Rajasthan state tops the country under MNREGA scheme, target increased from 23 crore to 30 crore
Sachin Pilot said in the Assembly on Thursday that the state of Rajasthan topped the entire country in the successful implementation of the MNREGA scheme. Sachin was replying to supplementary questions asked by the MLAs during the Question Hour. He said that earlier the target under the scheme was 23 crores, which is being increased to 30 crores. Pilot said that under the scheme for the last several months, other payments, including the payment of the state's existence, have been pending before the central government. He urged the members of the Opposition in the House to cooperate in getting the pending amount sanctioned from the Center.
Earlier, the pilot said that the proposals for the works permitted under the Mahatma Gandhi NREGA scheme are sent to the government by the gram panchayats in the state, their approval is being issued in a time-bound manner as per rules. He informed that no work has been done under the Mahatma Gandhi NREGA scheme in the last 3 years in only one village Shankarpura of Ratavad, Gram Panchayat of Baran, Panchayat Samiti of Kota division.
Pilot said that works are approved on receipt of demand for employment under the scheme. He said that under Mahatma Gandhi NREGA scheme in Baran district, sanctions for 26 works on Secure Soft are pending, whose approval is under process. He said that it is mandatory to spend at least 60 percent of the total expenditure under the Mahatma Gandhi NREGA scheme on agriculture and allied activities. Under this, development of agricultural land, plantation and irrigation facilities etc. are allowed for the eligible farmers.
