Announcement of reward of Rs 3 crore for winning gold in Olympics now to increase participation in youth sports
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Thursday presented the budget of 2020-21 in the Assembly. Gehlot presented the budget in seven resolutions. In these, the budget announcements made for energetic youth were placed in the fourth resolution. In order to increase the participation of youth in the sports, in the budget announcement, CM Gehlot said that the prize money of Rs 75 lakh is being given to the players of the state for winning the gold medal in the Olympic Games. 2 crore will be given. Till now the prize money was 50 lakh rupees. Similarly, on winning the bronze medal, it has been announced to increase the amount of Rs 30 lakh currently being given to Rs 1 crore.
Similarly, cash prize of Rs 1 crore has been announced for winning gold medal in Asian Games / Commonwealth Games. Till now the prize money was 30 lakh rupees. At the same time, it has been announced to increase the prize money from Rs. 20 lakh to Rs. 60 lakh for winning the silver medal and Rs. 10 lakh from the present award for winning the bronze medal to Rs. 30 lakh. To prepare international level players for these sports, 500 coaches of different sports will be hired on contract. An annual expenditure of about Rs 10 crore will be incurred on this.
