The government who banned adult websites Delhi
The Information and Technology department last year instructed network service providers to ban and not show adult content to the users, Airtel, Jio and others have even taken action on these instructions.
Despite the ban lakhs of smartphone users are still watching porn every day with no effect of the ban. The owner of porn websites are coming up with new domains and banning each of them is getting difficult.
The Department of Telecommunications issued a letter to all Internet service providers, directing them to disable adult websites (under Article 79 (3) (b) of the IT Act, 2000).
Around 857 websites were disabled but popular sites such as Redtub and Adult hub are still can be accessed by any normal internet users. The ban and law seem to have no effect on adult and child pornographic content and government now need to enforce the law which has some real consequences.
