BMC is going to launch cycle track scheme, Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority was planning for this project from last few years, But due to some problems Mamarada had to leave this plan behind. This scheme will reduce the burden of Mumbai local train and will definitely affect traffic.
The authority plans to set up bicycle stands outside railway stations and bus stops. The cycle track was built on BKC area 3 years back which has been lying unused for the last three years, now the track will be used. The bicycle track, which was built by MMRDC for Rs 6 crore, is turned into a parking for auto rickshaws. but not anymore...
BMC will built new Bicycle stands for public cycles, from where anyone can rent a bicycle even for a whole day and then person can leave the bicycle at any BKC's bicycle stand. The authority is planning to connect these public cycles to the coming metro rail stations on BMC in the near future.
Authorities said, "To reduce pollution, cycling is the best ecological option. We have launched this rented bicycle scheme in Nerul, and all areas will be covered soon. You just have to download a mobile app to rent a bicycle."
