Court asks for Centre's reply on convict Delhi
The Delhi High Court has looked for the Center's reaction on a supplication by one of the convicts in 1984 enemy of Sikh uproars testing the lawfulness of the Home Ministry's structure for setting up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to reinvestigate the cases.
A seat of Justices Siddharth Mridul and IS Mehta given notice to the Union of India through the Secretary of Ministry of Home Affairs and recorded the issue for further hearing on September 30.
The legitimateness of the SIT has been tested by convict Yashpal Singh who was condemned to capital punishment by a preliminary court in a 1984 enemy of Sikh mob case which was revived by the SIT. In his request, he has guaranteed that the Executive can't organization re-examination and it must be finished by the court's heading.
