C0VID-19 PANDEMIC AND SOCIAL STRUCTURE: AN OVERVIEW
The traumatic eruption of Covid-19 pandemic has put a huge challenge to the whole sphere. With its outbreak have arisen many questions that still are unanswered. Where scientists and astronauts were thinking of exploring life on the Mars and people around the world were appreciating the amazing scientific and technological innovations and discoveries, at the same time no one would have ever imagined about the tiny microscopic organism being so eldritch that could crush down the whole world. It has proved to be as perilous as it has taken millions of lives so far globally and millions of people are still battling with life and death conditions.
Scientists at the world level are straining every nerve to find answer of this covid 19 mystery which is getting uncontrollable and now is emerging in new phases, has also put a challenge to social scientists to take notes of the changes it has brought in the social structure. Every institution of society is undergoing a kind of change. Social institutions including family, education, economics, culture, religion etc. are witnessing a drift from the existing norms and patterns. Not only in one society, horrifying tales about the Covid 19 pandemic are coming from all over the globe and has spared no other society from its cruel clutch. There goes the great saying of Aristotle, that “when the story telling goes bad in society, the result is decadence”. There has been a great effect of Covid 19 on social structure as it has brought plethora of changes in social order. By necessarily following the social distancing measures, it has brought drastic changes in family relations as there seems less warmth while greeting family members, friends or colleagues and on the other hand there has been a rise in family conflicts and domestic violence cases of the most vulnerable groups including women and children while staying at home. It has negatively affected their psychological wellbeing and they claim of experiencing the obscurity without any hope about life.
Face masks in ancient times was worn by Greek actors during their stage shows to hide their identity behind the cover. But now wearing of face masks to protect oneself and practicing hygienic measures has now been a cultural norm of every society. The culture of “shaking hands” is being replaced by the culture of “waving hands” from the distance of two meters. Touch Me Not attitude among the people has attained the prepotency. By following the Social Distancing measures this pandemic has blown life into the half dead concept of untouchability.The lockdown measures set forth by the government in order to curb the spread of virus has restricted the collective religious practices and temporary closure of spiritual centers but at the same time has provided enough time for introspection which is good in itself.
The whacking restriction on human rights including the ‘Right to education’ is grave of all changes this pandemic has brought. It has forced administrators to close down the gates of schools, colleges and universities globally. It has changed the whole scene of physical classes into the long standing concept of technologically driven learning; the matter of concern is whether existing curriculum and pedagogy are going good with anytime, anywhere learning. Practice of homeschooling during this pandemic has been the core method of learning for students at the global level. But at the same time it has created a digital divide among students, as only children from privileged sections of society have access to the electronic learning, as well said by the Conflict Theorist Karl Marx that, the history of all previous societies has been the history of class struggles”, and the underprivileged children are struggling for the needful resources necessary to cope up their study loss while staying at home.
Work from Home [WFH] culture also took its birth during this pandemic as it has forcibly led people to shut all the work places around the sphere. Millions of people working on the daily wages basis lost their jobs because all the bread earning opportunities for them has been sealed. It has been a trouble making for trade and commerce sector as well. Globally, there has been a sharp decline in the growth rate of the business sector. In short it has a devastating effect on the global economy at large.
We are hopeful that sooner or later this Corona phase will end, but it has been a great matter of debate for scientists, medical professionals, researchers, sociologists, writers, businessmen, and historians, may be in future it will be taught in school history books and the change this pandemic has brought in society will be discussed in future. But only one change being humans we can withstand is the change in morality, as rightly quoted by the great sociologist Emile Durkheim that, “Man is a moral being, only because he lives in society. Let all social life disappear and morality will disappear with it.” We have to firmly hold the flambeau of our moral values so that history will witness the fact that during this devastating global pandemic people did not let their morality fall prey to this eldritch virus. Post pandemic the society will not be the same as it has gravely changed every aspect of life and there is the fear of trepidation among people everywhere. But we have to be patient, devoted, faithful and hopeful that will help in healing the social bonds necessary for social reconstruction.

My heart is reeling under deep pain
From decades we are fighting stress n strain,
We have stayed home for unlimited time
Being innocent here is the greatest crime,
Lockdown for us is not a big deal
But, I want to know what others do feel,
Life has like just taken a pause
And everyone knows what is the cause,
Keep your hope going and be strong
This dark phase will not stay for long,
We’ve to firmly hold our positive thought
Fight this ‘Time’ as we have never fought,
I know it is tough and hard to bear
Sure, shall we overcome through patience n Prayer,
Do remember the lesson this ‘Time’ has taught

आश्रय केंद्र में नही मिल रहा शरण पशुओं ने पावर हाउस में डाला डेरा !

सरकार छुट्टा पशुओं को संरक्षण देने के लिए आश्रय केंद्रों पर हर महीने करोड़ों रूपये पानी की तरह बहा रही है इसके बावजूद भी क्षेत्र में आश्रय केंद्र से अधिक मवेशी सड़कों पर घूमते नज़र आ रहे हैं, मुज़ेहना ब्लॉक क्षेत्र में बनी प्रदेश की मॉडल गौ शाला में छुट्टा मवेशियों को शरण ना मिलने की वजह से मवेशियों ने पावर हॉउस को अपना बसेरा बना लिया है, शाम होते ही ये पशुओ अपना पेट भरने के लिए आस पास के खेतों में अपना तांडव शुरू कर देते है, इन छुट्टा पशुओं से ग्राम सिंहपुर बेलहरी, जोतिया, सरजू पुरवा, लालक पुरवा, सहित इर्द गिर्द के किसान अपनी फसलें बचाने के लिए रात भर जागने को मजबूर हैं !
ऐसे में ये बड़ा सवाल है की अगर किसानों को इन पशुओं की वजह से उतपन्न संकट से बचाया नही जा सकता तो फिर आश्रय केंद्र पर करोणों रूपये खर्च करने का आशय क्या है, इस परिस्थिति में यह कहा जाना अतिशयोक्ति नही होगी की जिला व स्थानीय प्रशासन छुट्टा मवेशियों से किसान की फसलें बचाने में बड़ी लापरवाही करता नज़र आ रहा है।

रातानाडा पुलिस के मुताबिक युवक अपनी मंगेतर को लाया था। आरोप है कि 29 नवंबर को दुष्कर्म किया। बाद में शादी से मना कर दिया। 27 वर्षीय पीड़िता का आरोप है कि उसे धोखे से बुलाया था।

El director del Instituto de Investigación de la Diabetes (DRI) y del Centro de Trasplante Celular de la Facultad de Medicina Miller de la Universidad de Miami, Camilo Ricordi, y su equipo de colaboradores internacionales, presentaron los resultados de un innovador ensayo que muestra que las infusiones de células madre mesenquimales, derivadas del cordón umbilical (UC-MSC), disminuyen de forma segura el riesgo de muerte y aceleran el tiempo de recuperación de los pacientes más graves con COVID-19, según publican en la revistaSTEM CELLS Translational Medicine(SCTM). En abril pasado, la FDA autorizó un ensayo clínico controlado que fue iniciado por The Cure Alliance, una organización sin fines de lucro de científicos de investigación fundada hace diez años por el doctor Ricordi, con el objetivo de que científicos de todo el mundo compartan conocimientos y acelerar las curas de todas las enfermedades. Al comienzo de la pandemia, todo el enfoque se centró en poner fin al sufrimiento causado por el COVID-19. El doctor Ricordi creó el 'Proyecto mini-Manhattan', cuyo resultado ha producido esta importante nueva arma en el arsenal contra el COVID-19, especialmente durante este momento crítico en el que la distribución de las nuevas vacunas es más lenta de lo anticipado y la tasa de infección y el número de muertos sigue aumentando. El estudio describe los hallazgos de 24 pacientes hospitalizados en la University of Miami Tower o en el Jackson Memorial Hospital con COVID-19 que desarrollaron el síndrome de dificultad respiratoria aguda grave (SARS), una complicación peligrosa y a menudo fatal caracterizada por una inflamación severa y acumulación de líquido en los pulmones. Cada paciente recibió dos infusiones de células madre mesenquimales o un placebo, administradas con días de diferencia. "Fue un estudio doble ciego. Ni los médicos ni los pacientes sabían quién recibió el tratamiento, quién recibió el placebo", explica Ricordi. Al mes, el 100% de los pacientes que recibieron las infusiones de UC-MSC sobrevivieron frente al 42% del grupo de control. Los investigadores encontraron que el tratamiento era seguro, sin eventos adversos graves relacionados con la infusión. El equipo del doctor Ricordi también informa que el tiempo de recuperación fue más rápido entre los del grupo de tratamiento. Más de la mitad de los pacientes tratados con infusiones de UC-MSC se recuperaron y regresaron a casa del hospital en dos semanas. Más del 80% del grupo de tratamiento se recuperó el día 30, frente a menos del 37% en el grupo de control. "Es como la tecnología de una bomba inteligente en los pulmones para restaurar la respuesta inmune normal y revertir las complicaciones potencialmente mortales", apunta Ricordi. Solo un cordón umbilical, donado de una cesárea, puede producir hasta 10.000 dosis del tratamiento COVID-19. "Nuestros resultados confirman el poderoso efecto antiinflamatorio e inmunomodulador de las UC-MSC. Estas células han inhibido claramente la 'tormenta de citoquinas', un sello distintivo del COVID-19 severo", añade Giacomo Lanzoni, autor principal del artículo. "Los resultados son de importancia crítica no solo para el COVID-19, sino también para otras enfermedades caracterizadas por respuestas inmunes aberrantes e hiperinflamatorias, como la diabetes tipo 1 autoinmune. Estamos ansiosos por aplicar estas células en ensayos clínicos para detener la progresión de la diabetes tipo 1", prosigue Lanzoni, profesor asistente de investigación, Instituto de Investigación de la Diabetes, Departamento de Bioquímica y Biología Molecular de la Facultad de Medicina Miller de la Universidad de Miami. El equipo central del doctor Ricordi incluía científicos con experiencia en células madre, enfermedades pulmonares y cuidados intensivos, pero fueron los investigadores de la diabetes quienes comenzaron a descifrar el código. En el DRI, el doctor Ricordi y sus colegas habían estado colaborando con científicos chinos para estudiar UC-MSC para el tratamiento de la diabetes tipo 1. Con el brote de la pandemia se enteró de que esos colaboradores estaban ahora probando el tratamiento en pacientes gravemente enfermos de COVID-19 e informando de su éxito. Pronto se unieron a los investigadores de China los investigadores israelíes, que informaron de que hasta el 100% de los pacientes tratados sobrevivían y se recuperaban más rápidamente que los que no recibían tratamiento con células madre. Pero ninguno de los estudios fue un ensayo aleatorio, el estándar de oro de la ciencia. El potencial del tratamiento era ciertamente prometedor. Se sabe que las células mesenquimales ayudan a corregir las respuestas inmunes e inflamatorias que salen mal. También tienen actividad antimicrobiana y se ha demostrado que promueven la regeneración de tejidos. Además, cuando se administran por vía intravenosa, las células madre mesenquimales migran de forma natural a los pulmones exactamente donde se necesita terapia en pacientes COVID-19 con síndrome de dificultad respiratoria aguda potencialmente mortal.
